Conceptually, this design came about as a result of me being a young South Korean artist living and studying in Europe. Despite the obvious differences in culture and therefore perception, there are also many area of common ground between East and West.
My inspiration here was to attempt to create something that combined elements from both Eastern and Western cultures working together harmoniously to produce a coherent and useful design.
The most attractive feature of this design, for me as an artist, is the fact that I had to actually produce all the materials I used by changing them from their original state into a workable medium, strong enough to withstand repeated use.
The material I created came from recycled newspaper bound together with rice glue.
